After completing her degree in Management, Economics and Law at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences in 2004, Miranda started as HR Business Partner at a range of companies in the transport and technical sector. In January 2018 she was approached for a new challenge, and within a week she had her first interview at DeRegt. The second followed three days later, this time with Sercel’s Vice President HR. She was asked to start straight away.
What makes your work so enjoyable?
My duties and responsibilities are very wide-ranging. In addition to the ‘standard’ HR duties I am also involved with coordinating the integration of the HR processes of our parent companies Sercel and CGG, with our own. I am also the designated Confidential Advisor at DeRegt. People who work here can come to me whenever they need someone to talk to. My door is always open. And if there is anything wrong, we always look for the best solution for the company as well as the employee. That is something very important to me, because I have direct experience of DeRegt as a warm and open company. The way I was welcomed here from the start. Everyone is ready to help each other, and takes an interest in one another. I try to pass this on to new employees, the way I was welcomed by my colleagues.
Is there life beyond DeRegt?
‘No question about it. In May 2002, I met Nick, and two years later we got married. We don’t have any kids, but we do have two very sweet and boisterous Jack Russel Terriers. And in the weekends I enjoy spending time on a golf course. Without the dogs, of course.’
