For our head office and production location in Krimpen a/d Lek (Rotterdam area) we are looking for a fulltime Design Engineer for 1 of our Product lines.

Job description
As a Design Engineer you will be involved in designing new cable systems for the Defense/Oil & Energy/Seismic market. The Design Engineer specializes in developing and applying the latest technology into cable systems. Designing the cables is often a compromise between the customer requirements and the realistic possibilities. The design engineer must find solutions to production problems which are related to design issues. The first year’s employment will constitute an intensive learning and training period to bring the candidate up to speed.

Job qualifications
Masters or Bachelor degree in one or more of the following disciplines: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
You have a detailed knowledge and understanding of current engineering applications, and have the practical skills and knowledge to put plans into practice. You should be able to understand engineering drawings and principles, understand the qualities of metals and other materials, have an understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods, have problem solving skills and be a good team player. You have the ability to be innovative, to learn, and to cope with the fast pace of work. Fluent written and spoken English is a must. Any previous experience with high or low Voltage power cables, terminations, steel cables, fibre optics or signal cables will give a definite advantage. Experience in design with Autocad or Solidworks is beneficial. You are willing to travel abroad when necessary.
